02Inside the platform
What Barbadian employers run on Workzoom.
Employee self-service, admin dashboards, timesheets, and reports. One login covers the entire team, on any device.

Admin Dashboard
Headcount, turnover, and workforce trends update in real time. Your HR team sees the entire Barbadian operation on one screen, with every location rolled up automatically.

Organization Chart
The chart maps positions, not people. When someone leaves, the role stays in place along with the certifications and compliance requirements attached to it. Reorganizations stop being chaos.

Timekeeping
Employees clock in from the web, their phone, or a biometric device. Hours flow straight into payroll with overtime already calculated, so the pay run runs without surprises.

Leave Management
Requests come in from a phone, managers approve in a tap, and balances update everywhere at once. By the time payroll opens, accruals and deductions are already reconciled.

Payroll Financial Reports
Pay run summaries, deduction breakdowns, and remittance totals live in one report. Every line ties back to a calculation, and every calculation ties back to a record. Built for the way finance teams actually audit.

Benefits Administration
Enrollment, coverage, and plan management share the same employee record that runs payroll. The moment someone enrolls, deductions are already wired in. No duplicate entry, nothing to reconcile later.

A 200-employee organization using all four suites pays $3,200 per month with no setup fees and no contracts.
Core Suite (required, $4 per employee per month)
The Core suite is the Workzoom platform itself. Every subscription starts here. It includes three portals: an admin portal for HR teams, a manager portal for supervisors, and an employee self-service portal for staff. Core includes recruiting, onboarding, personnel records, organizational charts and position management, compensation management, employee engagement surveys, document storage with e-signatures, and reporting and analytics. All other suites build on top of Core.
Talent Suite (optional, +$4 per employee per month)
Performance management with 360-degree reviews and 9-box talent grids, a learning management system with course tracking and certifications, career planning with development paths, and succession planning with readiness assessments.
Workforce Suite (optional, +$4 per employee per month)
Drag-and-drop employee scheduling with shift templates, timekeeping with web, mobile, kiosk, biometric, and facial recognition clocking, and time off management with balance tracking, approval workflows, and team calendar views.
Payroll Suite (optional, +$4 per employee per month)
Payroll processing with built-in statutory compliance for multiple countries. Canada: CPP, EI, federal and provincial income tax, T4, ROE. United States: federal and state taxes, W-2. Bahamas: NIB contributions. Jamaica: PAYE, NIS, NHT, Education Tax, HEART/NSTA. Trinidad and Tobago: NIS, Health Surcharge, PAYE. Also includes benefits administration and expense management with receipt capture.
Complete Platform ($16 per employee per month)
All four suites combined. For a 200-employee company, the complete platform costs $3,200 per month. For a 500-employee company, it costs $8,000 per month. Annual prepayment saves 5%, and non-profit organizations receive an additional 5% discount.
Discounts available
Annual prepay discount: 5% off when billed annually instead of monthly. Non-profit discount: 5% off for registered non-profit organizations. These discounts stack for a combined savings of approximately 9.75%. Example: a 200-employee non-profit on annual billing pays approximately $34,668 per year instead of $38,400, saving $3,732 annually.
What is included at no extra cost
Implementation and setup, data migration from existing systems (spreadsheets, other HRIS, payroll providers), training for administrators and end users, ongoing customer support, and all future software updates and new features. There are no per-payroll-run fees, no per-report fees, and no per-user license fees beyond the per-employee pricing.
Minimum monthly fees
For very small organizations, minimum monthly fees apply: $400 per month for 1 suite, $500 for 2 suites, $600 for 3 suites, $700 for all 4 suites. These minimums only affect organizations with fewer than 100 employees.

06How it works
What running payroll in Barbados actually requires
NIS contribution schedules, PAYE brackets, and Severance Payments Act obligations all make specific demands of the system behind the payroll run. Here is what Workzoom's architecture handles so your team does not have to.
Single database. No sync required.
HR, Workforce, Payroll, and Talent share one employee record. When a rate changes in HR, payroll reads it immediately. No sync job between modules, no export to a separate payroll system, no reconciliation step between timekeeping and pay.
NIS and PAYE configured against current BRA schedules.
NIS contribution rates and insurable earnings ceiling applied automatically. PAYE brackets configured per current Barbados Revenue Authority schedules. Rate changes propagate to every affected employee in one update.
Date-effective adjustments and severance calculation.
Every record is date-stamped. Backdated salary adjustments flow into prior pay periods with the correct rate applied. Severance under the Severance Payments Act, built to compute from continuous service records, not reconstructed in a spreadsheet.
Position-based compliance tracking.
Positions exist independently of the people filling them. Tourism certifications, professional licenses, and industry-specific credentials attach to the position. Compliance alerts fire before credentials lapse.
BBD currency formatting and bank file generation.
Pay stubs formatted in Barbadian dollars. Bank files generated for direct deposit to local institutions. Government remittance documentation bundled per pay cycle.
Data hosted in Canada, governed by Canadian law.
All data is hosted on AWS in Montreal, operated by Nortek Solutions Inc. (Workzoom's parent company). Canadian federal privacy law governs. No third-country data transfers unless you operate in those countries.
07b Statutory rates
Statutory payroll rates for Barbados
Current employee and employer contribution rates, ceilings, and thresholds set by the issuing authority. Workzoom configures and maintains these rates in the platform, reviewed quarterly and on every statutory change, so payroll runs use the current values.
| Contribution | Rate | Year | Source | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Barbados NIS employee contribution (combined incl. severance) | 11.1% | 2026 | NIS Barbados | |
| Barbados PAYE income tax | 11.5% / 27.5% | 2026 | Barbados Revenue Authority | First bracket: 11.5% on BBD 25,001-75,000, 27.5% above BBD 75,000 |
Verified May 19, 2026 against the issuing authority for each line. Rates change. If you spot a discrepancy, contact us and we will update within one business day.

Questions about Barbados
Specifics on running HR and payroll in Barbados with Workzoom.
Deep dive
More about Barbados HR and payroll.
Barbadian HR and payroll on Workzoom
Barbados has one of the most developed economies in the English-speaking Caribbean, with a workforce composition spanning tourism, financial services, manufacturing, and public sector. HR and payroll requirements reflect the operational maturity of Barbadian employers and the statutory framework that applies under Barbadian employment law.
Workzoom is live in Barbados today for HR, Workforce, and Talent, holding one employee record across recruiting, scheduling, time, leave, and performance. Workzoom calculates payroll to gross and exports your time and leave data so your existing payroll runs deductions; full Barbados gross-to-net is on our roadmap. The architectural depth that serves Canadian and Bahamian customers applies identically here, and the platform reads Caribbean rather than as a North American tool with localization extensions.
Mid-market Barbadian employer profile
Barbadian mid-market employers typically operate between 100 and 1,500 employees with workforce composition that includes both administrative and front-line staff. Workzoom is sized for that operational range, with platform depth that matches the requirements of mid-market HR and payroll at Caribbean scale.
The four-suite model (HR, Workforce, Payroll, Talent) covers the operating surface that Barbadian mid-market employers need without forcing them onto an enterprise platform sized for organizations 10x their scale. The architectural fit matches the operational reality.
Banking and statutory integration
Moving HR and payroll data between systems is a recurring challenge for platforms designed primarily for North American markets. Workzoom exports clean time and leave data so your existing payroll handles disbursement, and full Barbados gross-to-net is on our roadmap. The same employee record feeds the export, so the figures stay consistent with the rest of HR.
Clean data exports matter operationally because the alternative is manual rekeying and reconciliation cycles that consume staff time and introduce error. Workzoom handles the time, leave, and pay-to-gross flow inside the same architecture that handles the rest of HR, so the data your payroll receives stays accurate.
Implementation playbook for Barbados
The 4-to-8 week implementation timeline applies for most Barbadian mid-market organizations. Phased rollout starting with the highest-friction modules ensures quick wins build credibility for the broader transformation. The Caribbean implementation methodology built up from Bahamian customers informs the playbook for HR, Workforce, and Talent in Barbados, while full Barbados gross-to-net remains on our roadmap.
Validating exported time and leave data against your existing payroll before cutover removes the risk that pay accuracy degrades during the transition. The implementation discipline that Cable Bahamas and Island Luck experienced during their cutovers translates directly to Barbadian HR, Workforce, and Talent rollouts.
