WCAG 2.1 AA · Tested quarterly

Built to WCAG 2.1 AA. Tested every quarter.

Workzoom is committed to making our product and public website usable for every employee, manager, and administrator, including people who rely on assistive technology.

Why teams trust Workzoom

  • Since 2000. Workzoom has run Canadian payroll for 25+ years.
  • Canadian data residency, AWS Canada (ca-central-1). Canadian customer data stays in Canada.
  • SOC 2-aligned controls. Encrypted at rest, role-based access, immutable audit logs.
  • County of Renfrew, Silvera for Seniors, Cable Bahamas. 50 to 5,000 employee organizations.

Workzoom accessibility commitment.

Workzoom builds software that an entire organization uses every day. Employees check pay stubs. Managers approve timesheets. Administrators run payroll. If any of those people cannot use the product, the product is not finished. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA across both our application and this marketing website, and we treat accessibility as part of quality, not a separate initiative. Accessibility work is included at no extra cost in every Workzoom subscription, which is priced at $4 per employee per month with implementation, training, and support included, no setup fees, and no long-term contract.

Workzoom is designed, tested, and supported from Toronto, Ontario. Our product team reviews accessibility as part of release planning, and we run accessibility checks during quality assurance on every major release.

Standards we follow

Workzoom aligns our accessibility program with the standards that apply to the regions we serve:

  • WCAG 2.1 Level AA. The global baseline for accessible digital products, published by the World Wide Web Consortium.
  • Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). Workzoom is headquartered in Ontario and our product meets the AODA Information and Communications Standards for our organization size. See our Canada page for Canadian-specific capabilities.
  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title III. Workzoom customers in the United States rely on WCAG 2.1 AA as the practical ADA compliance benchmark for web applications, which is the standard we apply.
  • European Accessibility Act. For Workzoom customers operating in the European Union, we align with the EAA requirements that take effect for applicable digital services.
  • Caribbean disability legislation. We follow the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities) Act in The Bahamas, the Disabilities Act in Jamaica, and equivalent statutes across our Caribbean territory. Our Caribbean customers can request formal conformance documentation for procurement.

Accessibility features inside Workzoom

The following accessibility features are built into the Workzoom platform and this website across every suite: HR, Payroll, Workforce, and Talent.

Keyboard navigation

Every interactive element in Workzoom can be reached and operated using a keyboard. Focus order follows the visible layout, dropdown menus, date pickers, and modal dialogs support full keyboard control, and focus is returned to the trigger element when a modal closes.

Visible focus states

Every focusable control has a visible focus indicator that meets WCAG 2.1 contrast requirements. We do not remove default focus outlines without providing a stronger custom replacement.

Screen reader support

Workzoom uses semantic HTML and ARIA where needed so that screen readers including JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack can announce page structure, form fields, error messages, and status updates. Form labels are explicitly associated with their controls, error messages are announced, and icon-only buttons include accessible names.

Color contrast

Body text on Workzoom pages meets or exceeds the 4.5:1 contrast ratio required for WCAG 2.1 AA. Large headings and UI components meet the 3:1 ratio. We do not rely on color alone to convey meaning: status indicators, required fields, and validation errors always include text or iconography in addition to color.

Text scaling and zoom

Workzoom pages remain usable when text is scaled up to 200% in the browser. Layouts reflow without horizontal scrolling at a 320 pixel viewport width, and no content is lost at higher zoom levels.

Reduced motion

Workzoom respects the prefers-reduced-motion system setting. When a user has reduced motion enabled at the operating system level, animated transitions and parallax effects are minimized or removed across the marketing website and the product interface.

Language and bilingual support

Workzoom employee and manager self-service is available in English and French, and language is declared correctly in the page markup so assistive technology can pronounce content in the right voice.

Known limitations

Despite the measures above, some parts of Workzoom may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA:

  • Some legacy reports and downloadable PDF exports were generated before the current accessibility standard and may not be fully tagged for screen readers. If you need an accessible version, contact us and we will provide an alternative format.
  • Third-party embedded content, including some payroll tax authority integrations and optional marketplace integrations, are maintained by external providers and may not conform to the same standard.
  • Older browsers without modern accessibility APIs may not expose every feature correctly. We support the current and previous major version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.

Where a specific page or feature falls short, we will provide the information or functionality through an alternative channel on request.

How we test Workzoom accessibility

We use a combination of automated tooling and manual review to catch accessibility issues before and after release:

  • Automated scanning of marketing pages and product screens using industry-standard accessibility tools during build and continuous integration.
  • Manual keyboard testing of every new screen before it ships, including tab order, focus management, and keyboard-only task completion.
  • Screen reader spot checks on high-traffic product flows such as login, pay stub viewing, leave requests, timesheet submission, and manager approvals.
  • Color and contrast audits at the design system level, so that fixes applied once propagate across the entire Workzoom product.

Report an accessibility issue

If you encounter an accessibility barrier anywhere in Workzoom or on this website, please tell us. We treat accessibility reports as functional bugs, not as feedback to be queued indefinitely.

Email: info@workzoom.com with the subject line "Accessibility".

Phone: 1-800-671-3843

Response time: Workzoom acknowledges accessibility reports within 2 business days and provides a status update or fix timeline within 10 business days. If you need a specific piece of information in an alternative format, we will provide it while the underlying fix is in flight.

When reporting, please include: the page URL or product screen, the assistive technology or browser you were using, and a short description of what went wrong.

Formal accessibility conformance documentation

Workzoom customers undergoing procurement, RFPs, or public-sector compliance reviews can request formal accessibility documentation, including a Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) or an Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR) aligned to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Contact us at info@workzoom.com and we will provide the current version.
