Linda Woolley
Linda Woolley studied at the University of Toronto and built her first payroll system in 1974, before the IBM PC existed. She founded High Line Data Systems Inc. the same year and ran it through the 1990s, building enterprise payroll systems for Canadian organizations. In 2000 she co-founded Nortek Solutions Inc. with Andy Woolley, the company that ships as Workzoom today. In November 2012 the Canadian Payroll Reporter quoted her as President of Nortek Solutions, peer to ADP Canada's CIO, on Nortek's 2009 decision to commit to a multi-tenant cloud architecture. Linda is still actively engaged in Workzoom today as Founder, 52 years after she shipped her first payroll system.
The company Linda founded in 1974, High Line Data Systems Inc., ran through the 1990s building enterprise payroll systems for Canadian organizations. That work is the foundation everything Workzoom does today rests on. The Canadian Payroll Reporter feature in November 2012 captured the moment Nortek committed to cloud: "In 2009, we said this is where we are going to head and it's going to be multi-tenanted. So no client would ever fear the risk of access by another client."
